Hemick Beach CornwallHemmick
A beautiful sandy beach with many Rock pools and lovely view of a coast.

Directions: Hemmick Beach is about a 10 minute walk from the park. Turn right out of the park and follow the lane down through the village of Boswinger continue along the narrow lane and you will come to the beach on your right.

Parking: There is limited parking by the beach but there is a small National Trust Car Park which is a 15 minute walk from the beach.

Dogs: Dogs allowed all year



Fistral Beach Newquay CornwallFistral
A huge sandy beach which is one of the best surfing beaches in the country. UK

Directions: Fistral Beach is on the western edge of Newquay which is approx half an hour’s drive from the park.

Parking: Car park by the beach. There are also a number of car parks within walking distance of the beach and there is road parking to the south of the beach

Toilets:Yes, by the beach

Facilities: Beach shop and cafe by the beach. Numerous shops, cafe's, amusements in
Newquay

Activities: Surfing Safety: Rip currents can be dangerous

Dogs: Dogs allowed all year


Gorran Haven Beach CornwallGorran Haven
A popular wide sandy beach with enough parking for busy days. There is a slipway to the beach

Directions: Gorran Haven is just a short drive from the park. Out of the park entrance turn immediately left then right follow the road along until you get to the fork in the road take the right fork then immediately turn right at the crossroads continuing along this road you will come into the village of Gorran Haven.

Parking: 1 large field car park at Gorran Haven

Toilets: Yes

Facilities: Shops, Takeaway and Cafes

Dogs: Dogs allowed all year


Carne Beach CornwallCarne Beach
A huge sandy beach about 1 mile long the east part of which is Carne Beach. There is a slipway down to the beach

Directions: Carne Beach is 10 miles from Truro and 12 miles from St Austell. Aproaching from the east or west on the A390 about 4 miles east of Truro turn onto the A3078 for St Mawes. Continue on the A3078 past Tregony and Ruan High Lanes and then turn left for Veryan. At Veryan turn right, then turn left and then right again and follow this road to Carne Beach

Parking: 1 car park

Toilets: Yes

Dogs: Dogs allowed all year but must be on a lead from May to Oct


Pendower Beach CornwallPendower Beach
A huge sandy beach about 1 mile long, the west part of which is Pendower Beach with a sand and grass area which is ideal for picnics. Plus a slipway down to the beach and plenty of places for Rock Pooling.

Directions:Pendower Beach is approx 10 miles from the park. Turn left out of the park towards Caerhays continue along this road following the signs for Veryan. At Veryan turn right, then turn right, then turn right again and drive down to the Pendower Beach car park. Alternatively, continue on the A3078 past the Veryan turning and take the next left to drive down the western approach to Pendower where there is a large car park on the behind the beach.

Parking: 1 car park behind the beach (reached from the Veryan route) and very small
car park on the cliff top. There is also a car park at Carne Beach

Toilets: Yes

Dogs: Dogs allowed all year but must be on a lead from May to Oct.


Caerhays Beach CornwallCaerhays (Porthluney Cove)
A sheltered sandy beach close to Caerhays Castle & Gardens. Facilities are close to the beach and there is easy access to the beach

Directions: Porthluney Cove is about approximately 2 miles from the park. Out of the park turn left follow this road taking care as it can be very narrow in places for approximately 2 miles and you will see the car park and beach on the left with the castle to the right.

Parking: 1 large car park by the beach this is also used by visitors to Caerhays Castle & Gardens

Toilets: Yes

Facilities: Shop which sells snacks, drinks and beachwear.

Dogs: Dogs allowed all year, but must be kept on a lead during the season.


Par Sands Beach CornwallPar
A wide sandy beach popular with families. There is a huge expanse of sand at low tide and there is still some sand left at high tide

Directions: Out of the park turn right and follow the signs to St Austell at the Macdonalds roundabout turn right onto the A390 and follow this until you reach St Blazey continue throught St Blazey following the A3082 through Par towards Fowey and just after the 2nd railway bridge, turn right for the car park.

Parking: 1 large car park by the beach

Toilets: Yes

Facilities: Pub, cafe, shop

Activities: Picnicking area

Dogs: Dogs allowed all year


Porthpean Beach CornwallPorthpean
A popular sandy beach very busy in late summer for Slipway for dinghies.

Directions: Porthpean is close to St Austell. Out of the park turn right and head back to St Austell at the Macdonalds roundabout turn right on the A390. Turn right onto the Porthpean road (the turning is about 200 yards east of the supermarket roundabout). Proceed on this road and take the second left which leads down to Porthpean beach.

Parking: 1 small car park close to the beach

Toilets: By the beach

Facilities: None

Dogs: Dogs are not allowed on the beach from Easter Day to October


Porthpean Beach CornwallPortholland
A large pleasant sandy beach joining the two hamlets of East and West Portholland. Some rock pools. Limited parking. There is level access to the beach at West Portholland and a slipway to the beach at East Portholland

Directions: Portholland Out of the park turn left onto the road to Caerhays. Follow the road through the hamlet of Rescassa. At the next junction turn right and follow the road to Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Continue on this road past Porthluney and then turn left and follow the road down to Portholland

Parking: A small car park at East Portholland (about 30 spaces) and a few parking spaces at West Portholland

Toilets: Yes, at East Portholland

Facilities: Cafe at East Portholland

Dogs: Dogs allowed all year but must be on a lead during the season


Readymoney CornwallReadymoney Cove
A small and sheltered sandy beach on the outskirts of Fowey which is a very pleasant town with much to see. Its also worth climbing up to St Catherines Castle for some spectacular views of the estuary. There are regular ferries to Polruan

Directions: Fowey is 9 miles from St Austell. Approach from east or west on the A390. 2 miles west of Lostwithiel turn left onto the B3269. At a roundabout go straight across (onto the A3082) and turn left at the next two roundabouts. Instead of driving down into Fowey follow the road above the town for the two car parks. The Readymoney Beach car park is a 10 minute walk from the beach

Parking: 1 large car park (450 cars) closer to Fowey town centre and a smaller car park (170) cars close to Readymoney Beach

Facilities: Shops, cafe's, restaurants in Fowey

Activities: Pleasant woodland walks around St Catherines Point
